What inspired you to pursue a career in science?
As a kid, my favorite question was always “why?” I wanted to understand the how and why behind everything. When I reached high school chemistry, it quickly became my favorite subject. Concepts like thermodynamics and chemical equilibrium gave me a way to understand how the world works, making a career in chemistry feel like a natural choice.

What is your current role, and what does a typical day look like?
I’m a Chemistry Lab Associate I, and there’s really no such thing as a typical day! I spend most of my time preparing solutions and samples for testing and performing analyses using techniques such as HPLC and GC.

What skills are most important for someone in your position?
I think attention to detail is the most important. Analytical work requires precision and diligence to ensure our results are accurate and reliable. Patience, curiosity, and time management are also important.

What’s a piece of laboratory equipment you couldn’t live without?
Pipette bulbs—please don't make me mouth pipette!

What do you hope clients take away from working with Scientech?
I hope clients recognize how much hard work and collaboration goes into every sample and test run. We strive to deliver accurate, reliable results in a timely manner, and that takes a team that works well together. I’m proud to be part of a lab where everyone supports one another and works together to solve problems.
