Evaluation of raw materials and finished products for microbial contamination is a critical component of product safety evaluation. Many standard microbiology methods have been developed by the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) for testing of drug, supplement, and cosmetic products. The method of administration of the product (oral, topical, IV) has a significant impact on the testing requirements and acceptable thresholds in microbial testing.

Scientech Laboratories has recently built a new Microbiology suite with biohoods, incubators, and space for conducting aseptic processes.
